Three hundred people attended the 22nd annual Combined Clinical Conference on Emergency Care, held August 12 –15 at the Tan-Tar-A Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks.  The event was a great success all around.

There are many good reasons for EMS professionals to consider attending the Combined Clinical Conference, especially those who have not yet had the opportunity. 

 

New changes and updates have been applied to 19 CSR 30-40.331 Application and Accreditation or Certification Requirements for Training Entities that Conduct Training for First Responders, Emergency Medical Dispatchers, Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic, Emergency Medical Technicians- Intermediate and Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic.

 

 

When Paula Kempf first started at Bureau of EMS Chief, she was

handed an NQAP (Not Quite A Paramedic) license from her staff.  Her credentials as a registered nurse coming from the hospital setting were not held against her, but have been cause for an occasion or two of friendly pokes.

Last month, The Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, called on ambulance services like Kansas City’s MAST Ambulance for deployments of up to 30 days to travel to Louisiana and Texas to aid in the aftermath of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.  The Missouri Ambulance Association responded in the affirmative providing more than 30 ambulances.  MAST Ambulance of Kansas City sent four ambulances and ten crew members.
